Thanks to Emma, I created this page! Hope you find it useful, probably not...
You may hate me after you have read this - I sound like an utter snob and computer geek. But I'm honestly not - okay, so I am a little picky, but who isn't? I just know what I'm looking for.
. Well, I cannot stress how important this first point is! Always think professional.
. Line everything up - don't just stick things all over the place, or write in text language for example, or forget to put in your capital letters.
. Don't make spelling mistakes - they're annoying and just plain stupid!
. Would you see writing like this written on a professional site?:
'leave a mesage n tell ma wat u fink of ma site...'
Urgh no, absolutely not!
. Now I'm not saying that my site is the most professional site around, but I try to keep it updated regularly, neat and tidy and yeah, that's it basically.
. Every site has to have a design theme. Whether it is simple or complex, the same design has to run throughout the whole website.
. That includes types of backgrounds, pictures and fonts.
. If you use a cursor, scrollbar or music on one page, you should repeat this on all pages.
. If you are not going to have a page list on your home page, that's fine. But what you don't want to do is spread the page links all around your homepage in any order, anywhere.
. This looks tacky and basically makes me think 'this person can't be bothered.'
. Update regularly, and if you create a site and don't add anything whatsoever to it, you may as well just delete it. I get so fed up of going on sites with nothing on and I'm sure other people do to!
